This position supports the resort's operational needs by fulfilling various roles including inventory runner, public area attendant, room attendant, and houseperson, while maintaining the resort’s cleanliness standards. Responsibilities include promptly reporting maintenance issues, addressing guest requests, and ensuring guest room confidentiality and security during PM hours.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Promptly deliver requested housekeeping items to guest rooms.
- Respond efficiently to housekeeping-related issues such as spills or broken glass.
- Support housekeeping staff with replacing housewares in rental units.
- Fulfill inventory requests from guests, owners, and staff promptly.
- Assist in stripping, cleaning, and touch-up of rooms, including making beds, per Sandestin standards.
- Replace soiled linens with fresh ones.
- Maintain cleanliness in common areas, restrooms, and offices.
- Remove trash from outdoor areas and ensure restrooms are clean, stocked, and presentable.
- Exercise sound judgment to uphold cleanliness and quality standards.
- Maintain punctual attendance as expected by the resort.
- Report suspicious activities or hazards to security or housekeeping management.
- Assist guests by answering questions, providing directions, and delivering excellent service.
- Operate resort vehicles as needed.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- 1-3 months of related experience or training preferred.
- Equivalent education and experience considered.
- Knowledge of cleaning products, sanitation, and handling delicate materials is a plus.
Required Skills
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
- Fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Physical Demands
- Indoor environment, climate-controlled.
- Ability to stand, move, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent activities include grasping, walking, bending, and operating equipment.
- Continuous communication with guests and team members.
- Visual and manual dexterity requirements.
