Job summary

Fluvanna County Public Schools seeks substitute bus drivers to transport students safely and efficiently to and from school and extracurricular events on a daily basis.

Position is a daily substitute in the absence of a regular driver, with the starting date immediate and compensation at $20.00 per hour; this is a non-benefited position in Palmyra, VA, under the Transportation Department.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED.
• Virginia commercial driver’s license with required endorsements (training provided).
• Ability to communicate with administration, staff, and the public professionally.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-trip inspection of the school bus before each trip.
• Operate bus on designated routes and time schedules.
• Report accidents and student injuries to authorities as required.
• Drive safely with students as priority and follow district policies.
