We are currently seeking a qualified individual for the Hourly Route Sales position, joining our Somerset, NJ team.

  • HOURLY RATE: $18.57-$25.13/hour
  • SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday approximately 45-55 hours a week.
  • BENEFITS: This position is full-time benefit eligible, with elective benefits including:

Job Summary: Safely drives step-van delivery truck over assigned routes to sell, deliver, merchandise products, and provide excellent customer service to grocery, mass merchandise, and independent chain stores.

Qualifications You Bring:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Valid driver's license in current state of residence.
  • Excellent driving record with no more than 2 violations in the past 3 years.
  • No DUI’s within the past 3 years.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Pass a job-related assessment with a score of 70% or better.
  • Contingent upon passing a drug test; random testing applies.
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and speak English.
  • Stable work history with good references.
  • Sound judgment and adaptability to work and driving conditions.
  • Strong communication, persuasion, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage priorities.

Physical Demands:

  • Constant reaching; frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, driving, and lifting up to 32 lbs.
  • Occasionally lifting/carrying up to 48 lbs. and pushing/pulling up to 40 lbs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sell, deliver, stock, and merchandise Herr's snack foods to stores.
  • Build relationships with key decision makers and provide excellent customer service.
  • Solicit new accounts and promote company-sponsored programs.
  • Manage inventory, process orders, and handle cash transactions.
  • Conduct daily vehicle safety inspections and maintain cleanliness.
