Job summary

Georgia Department of Public Health is seeking an hourly, part-time Registered Nurse in the North Georgia Health District Office, Dalton, GA. Responsibilities include managing the Children First (C1st) program workflow, comprehensive home visits, and coordinating with multiple county partners to connect families with services.

Minimum qualifications include an Associate degree in nursing, a PHN course, a GA RN license, and CPR certification. Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university.
  • Completion of a PHN course within one year of hire.
  • Current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license.
  • CPR certification.

Responsibilities

  • Assures Children\'s First (C1st) program operations include the accurate processing of paperwork, documentation and record keeping of protected health information.
  • Conducts home visits to complete comprehensive assessments of clients health care needs.
  • Assists (6) counties in District 1-2 in the promotion and assessment of eligible children into the Children First (C1st) Program.
  • Develops and sustains community partnerships.
  • Works closely with other programs within the Children with Special Needs (CWSN) Unit, such as Children\'s Medical Services, Early Hearing Detection and Intervention & Babies Can\'t Wait to ensure linkage to all available services.
  • Provided back-up to C1st Referral Coordinator, as needed.
  • Screens and refers clients to other community service providers.
  • Participates in drills and exercises on mass dispensing.
  • Performs job responsibilities with minimal supervision.

As an Hourly PH Registered Nurse within the Georgia Department of Public Health, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.

Location: North GA Health District Office- Dalton, GA

(Hourly Part Time--up to 29 hrs. per week max)

Job Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

Associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and completion of a PHN course within one (1) year of hire and current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license and CPR certification

  • Bilingual-English/Spanish

Current State employees are subject to State Personnel Board rules regarding salary.

CBH accepts educational credential recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE) will be considered.

All positions require criminal history record check. Required education credentials, license, certification and/or registration must be submitted prior to employment in the position. Some positions require pre-employment drug testing in which the applicant who is offered the position will be required to successfully complete.
