Primary Purpose:
Provide educational services in a hospital/home setting to eligible general education students who are temporarily unable to attend classes on their home campus due to serious illness, injury or accident.
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's Degree
Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for subject and level assigned (General Education, Special Education and ESL Certification, preferred) ex: Core Subjects, Generalist, Self Contained 1-8
Valid Texas Driver’s License with a clear driving history and reliable transportation
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of various forms of technology including software and specialized equipment
Ability to instruct students in varied, complex conditions and environments
Strong organizational and time management skills; effective communication skills in a variety of ways
Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
Experience:
Minimum three (3) years of teaching experience (preferred)

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Frequent district wide and occasional statewide travel; occasional prolonged and irregular hours; frequent standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing and pulling; occasional lifting up to 50 pounds; prolonged use of computer and repetitive hand motions; may be required lifting and positioning students; controlling behavior through physical restraint; assisting non-ambulatory students.
Equipment Used: Personal computer, printer, telephone, copier, fax machine, shredder and calculator.
Mental Demands: Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); interpret policy, procedures, and data; coordinate district functions; maintain emotional control under stress
