Dillwyn Correctional Center in Virginia is seeking a Fiscal Technician (Hourly/Wage) to provide essential fiscal support to the Business Office. The role involves processing, reviewing, and analyzing data to ensure accuracy and compliance with established procedures, and preparing and maintaining fiscal records and reports.

The position is wage/hourly, limited to 1,500 hours per agency per year, with a maximum of 20 hours per week and no state benefits.

Qualifications

Detail-oriented with numerical data; perform calculations accurately.
Knowledge of bookkeeping/accounting principles and practices.
Ability to prepare routine financial reports and statements.
Knowledge of office practices, procedures, and equipment.
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to input data into databases other than Microsoft Office.
Ability to communicate effectively with employees and staff.
Ability to interpret and follow operating instructions and policies.
Wage position limited to 1,500 hours per agency May 1–April 30.
Wage employees limited to 20 hours per week.
No state benefits accompanying wage position.

Responsibilities

Provides fiscal support to the Business Office.

Ensures all accounting transactions align with DOC and DOA policies.
