Job summary

Award HomeCare is seeking an experienced Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) to provide in-home care for a male client in New Jersey. This is an hourly, in-person position, with shifts Monday to Saturday from 10 AM to 2 PM; start ASAP.

A reliable vehicle is preferred and a valid NJ CHHA certification is required. Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, monitoring health, providing companionship, medication reminders, meal prep, light housekeeping, and accurate documentation while maintaining

Qualifications

• Current New Jersey CHHA certification (required).
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Minimum 1 year of caregiving experience required.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• Ability to work assigned shifts and maintain a consistent schedule.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility assistance.
• Provide companionship and emotional support.
• Monitor and report changes in the client's condition, behavior, or overall well-being.
• Assist with medication reminders and administration according to care plans and agency guidelines.
• Support clients with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, memory care needs, and other cognitive challenges.
• Prepare meals and assist with feeding when necessary.
• Perform light housekeeping duties, including laundry, tidying, and maintaining a safe home environment.
• Document care provided accurately using agency documentation systems while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
• Accompany clients to appointments, errands, or community activities as needed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology and documentation practices
• Experience working with individuals with dementia is a plus
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and follow care plans effectively
• Physical ability to assist with transfers and lift up to 50 pounds when required
