Job summary

The Steward/Potwasher/Warewasher at The Ambassador Hotel of Waikiki, Tapestry Collection by Hilton (a Highgate Hotels property) handles dishwashing, cleanliness, and proper storage of china, glass, and silver. You will support the kitchen team and maintain sanitation standards in a fast-paced environment.

Flexibility for long hours is required, with the opportunity to work in a landmark Honolulu hotel. The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and customer-focused service in hospitality operations.

Qualifications

• Heavy work: exert up to 100 pounds occasionally and up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Stand for the entire shift.
• Able to withstand hot and cold temperatures.
• Maintain a warm, friendly demeanor at all times.
• Communicate effectively with staff and guests.
• Multitask and prioritize duties to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in kitchens, back dock, dumpster and utility areas.
• Heavy-duty cleaning of ovens, grills, sinks, walls, floors, walk-in refrigerators and freezers.
• Wash pots, pans, and utensils; clean and sanitize equipment.
• Sweep, mop, and wash floors in kitchen, dining areas, and dock area.
• Return clean ware to storage with care to avoid breakage.
• Operate dishwashing equipment and ensure sanitation of china, glass, and silver.
