Job summary

Highgate Hotels is seeking a Steward to maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of all kitchen and dishwashing areas within The Manhattan at Times Square. Responsibilities include following sanitation protocols and supporting kitchen operations to ensure smooth service.

The role requires standing for extended periods, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, weekend availability, and a commitment to safety and quality. High school diploma preferred; prior kitchen experience a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior experience in a kitchen or stewarding role is a plus.
• SERV Safe certification or New York Food Handler’s License is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Be attentive, friendly and courteous to guests and staff.
• Be familiar with the hotel and where everything is located.
• Practice 'guest first' mentality at all times.
• Follow safe work practices to prevent injury or accidents.
• Report faulty equipment to management.
• Maintain a 'Clean As You Go' policy.
• Communicate clearly with colleagues and supervisors.
• Multitask and prioritize duties to meet timelines.
• Demonstrate initiative and a team-first attitude.
• Assist in lifting heavy kitchen items with teammates as needed.
