Job summary

The Hamilton Hotel DC is seeking a Staff Accountant to support daily accounting and financial operations. This shared role covers accounts receivable, revenue and cash controls, credit card reconciliations, and month-end close support, collaborating with hotel operations, sales, and finance leadership.

Ideal candidates have an associate or bachelor's in accounting and 1–3 years of accounting experience, hospitality background preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 1–3 years of accounting experience; hospitality experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with Opera PMS and Hilton systems a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts receivable billing, including direct bill, group, and miscellaneous charges.
• Assist with HGV related billing and reconciliation items.
• Monitor and resolve chargebacks.
• Perform daily on-site credit card reconciliations.
• Prepare daily cash and check deposits for Brinks armored transport.
• Review Night Audit shift reports for accuracy.
• Manage House Accounts in Opera including month-end checkout and reactivation.
• Prepare journal entries related to House Account activity.
• Monitor group commissions and obtain DOSM approvals.
• Assist with month-end close and audits.
