Job summary

NoMo SoHo, NYC, part of Crescent Hotels & Resorts, is seeking a Security Manager to protect guests, associates and property. The role demands prior hotel security leadership in NYC, expertise in FLSD and CPR, and strong communication with a calm, proactive approach to emergencies and daily operations.

The position requires flexible shifts across days, evenings and weekends, with a focus on patrols, policy enforcement, and life-safety system oversight to maintain a safe hotel environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of proven experience in hotel or hospitality security management in the NYC market.
• Fire Life and Safety (FLSD) certified as well as CPR certified.
• Strong knowledge of security laws, regulations, and safety protocols.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including days, evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, train on, and update security policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Spend majority of shift on foot patrol, observing for security risks and issues.
• Maintain order, assist guests, and coordinate responses to emergencies calmly.
• Watch for suspicious activity and report to supervisor; manage alarms and communications.
• Oversee Lost & Found in partnership with Housekeeping and monitor life safety systems.

We're looking for a Security Manager to perform protective and enforcement functions in a courteous and restrained manner in coping with emergencies, undesired conduct, disturbances and threats to life and property to maintain a safe and secure environment.

• Develop, implement, train on, and update security policies, procedures, and protocols in line with industry standards and legal requirements, including conducting monthly safety committee meetings.
• Spend majority of shift on foot patrol, walking, climbing stairs of the interior and perimeter of the hotel to observe and identify potential security and safety risks or undesirable conditions. Requires verbal communication using pager and two-way radio, bending, stooping and kneeling.
• Maintain order in the hotel, dealing with the welfare of guests, and assisting with door lock problems. Coordinate expedient response to emergency conditions such as fire, fire or safety hazards and threats to life and/or property in a calm, rational and persuasive manner. Handle undesired conduct and potential violations of hotel policy as warranted for the security and safety of hotel guests, associates, patrons and property. Requires grasping, lifting and or carrying or otherwise moving persons, packages, luggage, wheelchairs and safety equipment using manual dexterity of hands.
• Watch for suspicious persons entering, exiting, or loitering around building. Conduct walk through observations of entire hotel. Promote safe work practices.
• Implement random bag check procedures.
• Answer security telephone and safety hotline calls and respond in a timely manner based on priority.
• Observe the security monitors for any unusual activity and in the case of suspicious behavior report directly, via radio, to the supervisor on duty; report any alarms similarly.
• Partner with the Housekeeping dept. to manage and oversee Lost & Found operations, ensuring accurate tracking, documentation, and adherence to established protocols.
• Memorize and monitor life safety system installed at property including layout of entire building, alarm pull stations, location of fire extinguisher and sprinklers.

You have at least 5 years prior proven experience in hotel or hospitality security management in the NYC market. Fire, Life and Safety (FLSD) certified as well as CPR certified. You have strong knowledge of security laws, regulations, and safety protocols. You have excellent communication and leadership skills.
