Job summary

Sheraton Detroit Metro Airport is seeking a Sales Manager to maximize room revenue and occupancy in coordination with hotel operations. You will lead proactive sales efforts, manage leads, and send proposals to convert inquiries into confirmed bookings.

The role requires strong communication, timing, and teamwork as you build annual plans, maintain client relationships, and report weekly sales activity to the Director of Sales. Nights, weekends, and holidays may be required.

Qualifications

• Strong business communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
• Talk and listen to clients, demonstrating excellent sales skills by knowing and selling product in a professional and courteous manner.
• May be required to work varying schedules to include nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Conduct aggressive outside sales calls and inside appointments to generate business.
• Assist DOS in annual marketing plan and market segment action plans.
• Send proposals and follow through to convert leads to bookings.
• Document room blocks, meeting space, and catering details for bookings.
• Maintain sales quota and provide weekly sales reports and itineraries.
• Collaborate with team to ensure guest satisfaction and smooth operations.
• Support management with assigned tasks as needed.
