Job summary

The St. James Hotel in Red Wing, MN is seeking an experienced housekeeping supervisor to lead on assigned shifts, ensuring the cleaning and upkeep of hotel rooms to the highest standards.

You will supervise staff and promote a positive image of the property through friendly, honest service, contributing to guest satisfaction. Essential duties include inspecting work, assigning tasks, addressing guest requests, coordinating with other departments, and performing Rooms Division cleaning as needed.

Qualifications

• 2 years related experience/training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Maintain sanitation procedures and organization of work area adhering to OSHA and local health department regulations.
• Must be able to work any shift, weekends, holidays, and special events.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented.
• Basic office skills, experience with personal computer & Microsoft Office, general office equipment.

• Coordinate activities with other departments to ensure that services are provided in an efficient and timely manner.
• Perform or assist with Rooms Division cleaning or other duties as needed.
• Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.

The targeted hiring range for this position is $12.93 - $16.83 per hour depending on qualifications; however, the expanded salary range provides opportunities for advancement. In conjunction with the Rooms Manager, this role is primarily responsible for leading housekeeping functions on assigned shifts to ensure the cleaning and upkeep of hotel rooms according to established standards, as well as to achieve effective and efficient supervision of staff; Including to promote a positive image of the property to guests by maintaining cleanliness by presenting as pleasant, honest, and friendly to ensure high standard of guest service and satisfaction.
