Job summary

Hilton in Oklahoma City is seeking a Houseman responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of public areas and corridors of the property, stocking supplies, and assisting with linen counts for Room Attendants to ensure guest satisfaction. The role requires a high school diploma or GED (helpful), hotel knowledge preferred, and bi-lingual abilities preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED certification helpful or experience in a hotel or related field.
• Hotel knowledge preferred.
• Bi-Lingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Approach all encounters with guests and team members in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
• Maintain regular attendance in compliance with DHM standards, as required by scheduling.
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including a clean, pressed uniform and nametag.
• Comply at all times with DHM standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
• Must, at all times, be attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to all guests, managers, and other team members.
• Inspect all public areas to ensure cleanliness standards have been met; report problems to supervisor.
• Assist room attendant with heavy items such as mattresses and soiled linens; deliver linens and supplies.
• Shampoo carpets, strip and wax floors as part of preventive maintenance.
• Clean designated areas such as lobby, public restrooms, public areas and back of house areas.
• Collect trash and dispose of it properly; respond to guest requests for housekeeping supplies.
• Know and understand all services and amenities the hotel offers.
• Report maintenance problems or safety hazards by filling a work order or informing management.
• Practice safety rules to ensure the safety of guests and team members.
• Have knowledge of safety procedures and emergency plans.
• Use cleaning chemicals according to directions and know MSDS locations.
• StockRoom Attendant carts to par and replenish housekeeping closets.
• Complete removal of trash and dirty linens from attendant carts.
• Sweep and vacuum floors, hallways and stairwells daily.
• Spot clean walls, carpet, and fixtures; report repairs.
• Perform heavy cleaning daily in high use areas.
• Report lost and found items to supervisor.
• Maintain storage rooms in a clean and orderly manner.
• Attend meetings/training as required.
