Job summary

The Westin Chicago North Shore is seeking a Public Area Attendant to clean and maintain the hotel’s public spaces and perform deep cleaning as needed. You will ensure guest areas meet Marriott standards with friendly, service-oriented interactions throughout your shift.

Responsibilities include carpet and floor care, routine housekeeping tasks, and adhering to safety and brand guidelines. Evening and weekend shifts are typical for this role.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• Clear communication of information and ideas.
• Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
• Ability to work well in stressful, high pressure situations.
• Maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain the appearance of public hotel areas.
• Perform deep cleaning of assigned areas.
• Answer guest and associate requests in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
• Follow safety standards and Marriott policies.
• Shampoo carpets and clean floors and furniture per hotel standards.
• Assist with luggage handling at check-in/out.
• End of shift: submit daily assignment checklists to supervisor.
• Be familiar with hotel policies and emergency procedures.
• Attend meetings and perform other duties as requested.
