Job summary

Highgate Hotels, The New Yorker Hotel, in New York, is seeking an Extra Temporary Painter to maintain walls and surfaces across the property with emphasis on painting and wallpaper. You will perform repairs, read blueprints, and ensure code-compliant work.

Requirements include a High School diploma or equivalent; at least one year of hotel or related experience; and the ability to lift heavy objects. This is a full-time, union-class position offering a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• At least one year of progressive hotel maintenance experience preferred.
• Trade school and/or college coursework in related field helpful.

Responsibilities

• Paint walls and items to a presentable standard.
• Take readings on equipment and test cooling tower readings.
• Replace and program televisions as needed; replace light switches, receptacles, and fixtures.
• Perform plumbing repairs and repairs to pumps and water lines.
• Read and understand blueprints and wiring diagrams; maintain repair records.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and Federal codes; service pools and spas as required.
