Highgate Hotels is seeking a Maintenance Engineer Painter to keep the property in top condition with emphasis on painting and wallpaper throughout The New Yorker Hotel in NYC. The role covers routine maintenance, system readings, and basic repairs to support guest satisfaction.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, hotel experience, and the ability to read blueprints. Flexible hours and strong teamwork are expected in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required or experience in hotel or related field.
• At least 1 year of progressive experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• Trade school and/or college coursework in related field helpful.

Responsibilities

• Paint walls and designate areas to maintain a presentable condition.
• Take readings on equipment and test systems.
• Repair plumbing, pumps, and kitchen equipment as needed.
• Read and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams.
• Maintain records of repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes.
• Repair and program hotel electronic lock systems.
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming.
