Job summary

Shaner Hotels is seeking an Assistant General Manager for the Homestead Courtyard by Marriott in Homestead, FL. This on-site leadership role supports the General Manager in delivering exceptional guest experiences, profitability, and policy compliance.

The ideal candidate has hospitality leadership experience, budgeting knowledge, and strong communication skills. A Bachelor's degree is preferred, and bilingual English/Spanish is a plus. Flexibility for weekends and varied shifts is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of hotel management or hospitality leadership experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
• Working knowledge of hotel budgeting, purchasing, payroll, and cost control principles.
• Strong understanding of hotel operations across Front Office, Housekeeping, Maintenance, F&B (where applicable), and Sales.
• Experience with hotel Property Management Systems (PMS).

Responsibilities

• Assist the General Manager in overseeing all aspects of hotel operations in line with policies and franchise standards.
• Support the achievement of hotel financial goals, budget targets, and profitability objectives.
• Assist in developing short- and long-range financial objectives consistent with property goals.
• Help maintain payroll, purchasing, and expense controls to maximize efficiency and profitability.
• Lead, coach, and develop associates to promote productivity and a positive work environment.
• Maintain a visible presence and be accessible to guests and associates.
• Resolve guest concerns promptly to ensure exceptional satisfaction.
