Job summary

Best Western in Dalton, GA is hiring a Hotel Maintenance Worker to keep the property safe, clean, and fully operational for guests and staff. You will support the Engineering and Operations teams with routine and preventative maintenance, repairs, and guest room upkeep.

You’ll inspect spaces, perform repairs, and participate in project work while upholding safety standards and the high quality guests expect from Ascent Hospitality. Weekend and holiday availability is required as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in hotel maintenance or building maintenance is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical and general maintenance is expected.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills are desired.
• Ability to safely operate basic hand and power tools.
• Dependable, punctual and able to take ownership of responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance throughout the hotel.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and hotel departments.
• Assist with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and general building repairs.
• Inspect and maintain guest rooms, public areas and exterior spaces.
• Repair doors, locks, fixtures, lighting, and hotel equipment.
• Complete maintenance work orders accurately and timely.
• Identify safety hazards and report equipment malfunctions.
• Assist with preventative maintenance inspections and scheduled projects.
• Maintain hotel grounds and exterior areas.
• Keep tools and work areas organized and safe.
• Support property improvement projects and renovations as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and brand standards.

As a Hotel Maintenance Worker, you will play an essential role in keeping our property safe, comfortable, clean, and fully operational for our guests and team members.

You will support the hotel's Engineering and Operations team by performing routine maintenance, completing repairs, conducting preventative maintenance, and maintaining guest rooms, public spaces, and the property's exterior.

What You Will Do?

• Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance throughout the hotel.
• Respond promptly and professionally to maintenance requests from guests and hotel departments.
• Assist with basic HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and general building repairs.
• Inspect and maintain guest rooms, bathrooms, public areas, back‑of‑house spaces, and exterior areas.
• Repair and maintain doors, locks, fixtures, furniture, lighting, appliances, and hotel equipment.
• Complete assigned maintenance work orders accurately and in a timely manner.
• Identify and report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, and equipment malfunctions.
• Assist with preventative maintenance inspections and scheduled maintenance projects.
• Maintain hotel grounds and exterior areas as needed.
• Keep maintenance tools, equipment, and work areas clean, organized, and safe.
• Assist with property improvement projects, inspections, and renovations as needed.
• Follow all safety procedures, brand standards, and company policies.
• Provide courteous and professional service to guests and team members.

What We're Looking For?

• Previous experience in hotel maintenance, building maintenance, facilities, construction, or a related field is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and general maintenance.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to safely operate basic hand and power tools.
• Dependable, punctual, and willing to take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance requests and work independently.
• Commitment to workplace safety, preventative maintenance, and guest satisfaction.
• Hotel maintenance experience is a plus.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, as business needs require.
