Job summary

TownePlace Suites by Marriott Saraland, operated by Ascent Hospitality, is seeking a hands-on Hotel Maintenance Worker. The role supports the Engineering team with daily maintenance, repairs, and preventative tasks to keep guest rooms and public areas safe and fully operational.

The ideal candidate has basic HVAC/plumbing/electrical knowledge, strong troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to safety. Competitive pay starts at $17 per hour with comprehensive benefits and career growth

Qualifications

• Experience in hotel maintenance or building maintenance is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical and general maintenance.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to safely use basic hand and power tools.
• Reliable, dependable, and able to take ownership of responsibilities.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and preventive maintenance throughout the hotel.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and departments.
• Assist with basic HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and general repairs.
• Inspect and maintain guest rooms, public areas, and exterior spaces.
• Keep maintenance areas, tools, and equipment clean and organized.
• Communicate maintenance concerns to the Engineering leadership team.
• Support property improvement projects, inspections, and renovations as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and Marriott standards.

As a Maintenance Worker, you will play an important role in keeping our hotel safe, comfortable, clean, and fully operational for our guests and team members.

You will support the Engineering team with daily maintenance, repairs, preventative maintenance, and property upkeep throughout guest rooms, public areas, exterior spaces, and back-of-house areas.

What You Will Do

• Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance throughout the hotel.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and hotel departments.
• Assist with basic HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and general building repairs.
• Inspect and maintain guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house areas, and exterior spaces.
• Repair and maintain doors, locks, fixtures, furniture, lighting, appliances, and hotel equipment.
• Complete assigned maintenance work orders accurately and efficiently.
• Respond to maintenance emergencies and guest needs in a timely and professional manner.
• Assist with preventative maintenance inspections and scheduled projects.
• Help maintain the hotel grounds and exterior areas as needed.Keep maintenance areas, tools, and equipment clean and organized.
• Communicate maintenance concerns, safety issues, and equipment problems to the Engineering leadership team.
• Assist with property improvement projects, inspections, and renovations as needed.
• Follow all safety procedures, Marriott brand standards, and company policies.
• Provide professional and courteous service to guests and team members.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience in hotel maintenance, building maintenance, facilities, construction, or a related field preferred.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and general maintenance.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to safely use basic hand and power tools.
• Reliable, dependable, and willing to take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance requests.
• Ability to work independently while supporting the Engineering team.
• Commitment to safety, preventative maintenance, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction.
• Marriott or hotel maintenance experience is a plus.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
