Job summary

White Barn Inn, Auberge Collection in Kennebunk, ME, seeks a Maintenance Tech to support the hotel's engineering team. You will troubleshoot and repair electrical motors, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and painting, ensuring guest comfort and safety.

You’ll use power tools safely, read technical instructions, and work both independently and with a team. Hospitality experience is preferred; bilingual skills are a plus. Flexibility for weekends and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• Experience as a technician or engineer within a hotel or property management preferred.
• Experience with power tools, including proper use and safety.
• Ability to read and follow technical instructions for equipment, furniture assembly, and safety labels.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English with guests, co-workers, and management.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean motor vehicle record.
• Previous hospitality experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs throughout the shift.
• Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Bilingual skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Technical electrical motor troubleshooting and/or repair
• HVAC and refrigeration troubleshooting and/or repair
• Technical plumbing troubleshooting and/or repair
• Minor carpentry work
• Use power tools safely, including pressure washers and compressors
• Repairs may include gas-fired equipment or door lock repairs and office/audiovisual equipment
• Respond to guest requests quickly and attentively
• Respond to emergencies or life-threatening situations
• Follow established safety procedures
• Log essential information in the Engineering logbook
• Move objects for relocation and access
• Maintain knowledge of resort fire, well water, septic, and irrigation systems
• Support Planet Auberge sustainability initiatives
