Job summary

Jacobs Entertainment, Inc. is seeking a Hotel Maintenance Technician for Gold Dust West Elko. The role involves in-room maintenance, HVAC, electrical work, and preventive upkeep to ensure guest comfort and safety.

Responsibilities include system testing, inventory management, and collaborating with the engineering team. The position offers FT hourly, benefits after probation, and opportunities for growth within the company.

Qualifications

• Basic reading and writing abilities.
• Ability to work safely with power equipment and tools.
• Proficient in life safety systems operation and resetting.
• Must be able to understand and follow MSDS sheets.
• Know the location of all safety equipment and how to use/check it.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Basic computer skills.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent Work Experience.
• General maintenance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance activities in the guest room including unclogging drains and fixtures, painting, minor drywall repairs, repairing and/or reporting maintenance needs to all types of hotel hardware and electrical equipment including lamps, air conditioners/HVAC.
• Complete scheduled and as-needed maintenance of the hotel.
• Program TVs and perform general housekeeping and engineering-related inventory duties.
• Test, troubleshoot and perform basic repair on all types of equipment.
• Clean, lubricate, protect, and maintain tools, equipment, and fixtures in the hotel.
• Proactively evaluate room and corridor fitness and complete regular preventive maintenance procedures.
• Act in an engineering capacity to protect guests and property during emergencies.
• Maintain brand standards for common areas and in-room furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
• Prioritize and organize work to minimize downtime.
• Work under pressure and exercise good judgement.
• Maintain confidentiality of guest information and hotel security.
• Read and understand test equipment, measuring devices, and safety manuals.
• Follow oral and written instructions.
• Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts.
• Train and instruct staff; share knowledge and skills.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
