Hyatt Place Flushing/LaGuardia Airport Hotel seeks a skilled Hotel Maintenance Technician to ensure safe and efficient operation of all hotel facilities. The role emphasizes proactive maintenance, with focus on preventive measures to minimize downtime and guest disruption.

Experience with Hyatt's BOB platform is preferred. The technician will work under the Chief Engineer/Director of Engineering, supporting routine and emergency repairs and collaborating on capital projects.

Qualifications

• Proven maintenance experience in a hotel or hospitality setting.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and mechanical systems.
• Experience with maintenance management software is a plus (Hyatt BOB preferred).
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Relevant certifications or technical training preferred.

Responsabilités

• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues promptly.
• Implement and maintain preventive maintenance schedules to reduce equipment failures.
• Collaborate with Engineering team for capital improvements.
• Respond promptly to guest and staff maintenance requests with minimal disruption.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes.
• Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies for maintenance tasks.
• Provide guidance and training to junior engineering staff as needed.
• Use maintenance management systems (e.g., Hyatt BOB) to track work orders and reports.

Job Title: Hotel Maintenance Technician

Position Summary:

The Hotel Maintenance Technician ensures the proper functioning, safety, and efficiency of all hotel facilities, equipment, and systems through proactive maintenance, inspections, and repairs. This role emphasizes preventive measures to minimize downtime, extend the life of assets, and maintain an exceptional guest experience. Experience with Hyatt's BOB platform is preferred but not required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on all hotel systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, elevators, kitchen equipment, and guest room appliances.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues promptly.
• Implement and maintain preventive maintenance schedules to reduce equipment failures and emergency repairs.
• Collaborate with the Engineering team to plan and execute capital improvement projects.
• Respond promptly to guest and staff maintenance requests, ensuring minimal disruption to hotel operations.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and environmental standards.
• Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies necessary for preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.
• Provide guidance and training to junior engineering staff, as needed.
• Utilize maintenance management systems, such as Hyatt BOB, if available, to track work orders and generate reports.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a maintenance engineer, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and mechanical systems.
• Experience with maintenance management software preferred (Hyatt BOB platform a plus).
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
