Job summary

Hyatt Place Flushing/LaGuardia Airport Hotel is seeking a Hotel Maintenance Technician to ensure the proper functioning, safety, and efficiency of all hotel facilities, equipment, and systems through proactive maintenance, inspections, and repairs. The role emphasizes preventive measures to minimize downtime and maintain a superior guest experience.

Experience with Hyatt's BOB platform is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a maintenance engineer, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and mechanical systems.
• Experience with maintenance software preferred (Hyatt BOB platform a plus).
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on hotel systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, elevators, and guest room equipment.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues promptly.
• Implement and maintain preventive maintenance schedules to reduce failures.
• Collaborate with Engineering to plan and execute capital improvements.
• Respond to maintenance requests promptly to minimize guest disruption.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and codes.
• Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies.
• Provide guidance and training to junior staff as needed.
• Use Hyatt BOB or similar systems to track work orders and reports.
