Job summary

SMI Hotel Group is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep guest areas safe and functional. The role covers HVAC, plumbing, lighting, locks, painting and small carpentry tasks to uphold high hotel standards.

Candidates should have at least 2 years of maintenance experience and knowledge of electrical and HVAC systems, plus a strong guest-service mindset. Night, weekend and holiday availability is required in this hotel environment.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of Maintenance experience, preferably in a supervisory role
• Excellent working knowledge of maintenance including electrical and HVAC systems
• Excellent guest service skills with a high level of organization and attention to detail
• Ability to work well in a team and maintain a positive attitude
• Be available on nights, weekends and holidays

Responsibilities

• Responds and attends to guest repair requests and provides professional and courteous guest service at all times
• Operates, repairs and maintains all hotel lighting and related equipment systems
• Operates, repairs and maintains all plumbing and related equipment and systems
• Repairs and maintains all hotel appliances and equipment and the physical plant
• Paints all surfaces and equipment, performs minor wall covering repairs and furniture touch-ups
• Repairs and maintains lock and key systems
• Performs minor construction work
• Inspects and repairs kitchen and restaurant equipment and furnishings as required
• Ensures all projects are completed to specifications and on time
• Performs any other related duties as assigned
