Job summary

YOTEL Washington DC is seeking a General Maintenance Technician to perform preventative and corrective maintenance on hotel equipment, cabins, and related systems. The role emphasizes timely, accurate, and professional work aligned with YOTEL’s core values.

Responsibilities include addressing guest requests, maintaining HVAC and electrical systems, and repairing building structures. The technician will work with the Engineering leadership to ensure smooth operations and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 3+ years trade-related experience in mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry and building maintenance.
• Experience in hotel or related field preferred.
• Hands-on knowledge of building mechanical systems and controls.

Responsibilities

• Attend to guest requests and inquiries; escalate unresolved issues promptly.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on hotel equipment, HVAC, plumbing, electrical and related systems.
• Repair and maintain physical structure; perform painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other maintenance tasks.
• Install and replace lighting fixtures and bulbs; manage tools and inventory.
• Inspect machinery, listen for operational issues, and diagnose problems with supervision as needed.
• Coordinate services with other departments to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Assist in setup of new equipment and report major repairs to leadership.
• Perform duties assigned by Director of Engineering and General Manager.
