Purpose of the Role

Dayton Vitality Hotel is seeking a polite, friendly, and helpful Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role will be fully on-site and reports to the Chief Engineer. The position involves maintaining the building, grounds, and physical location with attention to safety, security, and asset protection. The Technician participates in emergency response for all facility issues.

Responsibilities

• Establish schedules and oversee all preventive maintenance activities
• Assist in establishing and implementing Life Safety and emergency procedures/training for personnel
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain records of maintenance and repairs
• Verify quality and safety of all work performed
• Conduct periodic inspections to assess condition and prioritize maintenance needs
• Compile lists of future projects for leadership review
• Maintain open communication with all departments for operational needs
• Keep equipment and work areas clean and in excellent condition
• Adhere to hotel standards, policies, and safety rules
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications, Skills, Abilities, and Experience

• Teamwork skills and positive attitude
• Ability to work day shift with flexibility for night shifts
• Physical ability to lift, carry, or pull heavy objects
• Ability to understand instructions
• Strong customer service skills
• Technical licenses/certifications in HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, etc.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to speak and hear, see clearly, and perform manual tasks. Ability to work nights, outdoors, and in various weather conditions. Must lift/carry 25-100 lbs., stand for long periods, and potentially come into contact with fumes or chemicals. Reasonable accommodations available for disabilities.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 4 years hotel-related experience
• Prior supervisory experience
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to work day and night shifts
• Must be able to commute or relocate to the property
• Valid driver’s license

Schedule / Travel Requirements

Various schedules, some travel required. The pay range is $45,000 - $50,000 annually.
