Job summary

Hilton Madison Monona Terrace in Madison, WI is seeking a Hotel Maintenance Technician to support daily hotel operations through preventive maintenance, timely repairs, and attention to detail.

You will be part of the engineering team, maintaining guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas to ensure a welcoming and well‑maintained property. Weekend availability preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong English reading/writing and communication skills.
• 3-4 years of general maintenance or repair experience.
• Experience using standard maintenance tools.
• Ability to read simple drawings and specs.
• Ability to estimate materials for repairs.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Recognize early signs of equipment/building issues.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Team-oriented with quality workmanship and weekend/holiday availability.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance throughout the hotel.
• Inspect, maintain, and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and mechanical systems.
• Respond to maintenance requests in a timely, professional manner.
• Identify issues and propose proactive solutions.
• Complete minor repairs such as drywall, painting, fixtures, doors, locks, furniture.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and work orders.
• Keep tools and work areas clean, safe, and organized.
• Follow safety procedures and support engineering operations.

As a member of our engineering team, you will play a vital behind-the-scenes role in delivering exceptional guest experiences. From guest rooms to public spaces and back-of-house areas, your work ensures our hotel remains welcoming, functional, and well‑maintained at all times.

What Will You Be Doing?

In this multi-skilled maintenance role, you will help maintain the hotel’s physical assets and respond to maintenance needs across the property:
