The Maintenance Technician at the Hampton Inn Dunn is responsible for assisting with the operation, maintenance, service, and repair of equipment as assigned.

Essential Functions
  1. Participate in the preventative maintenance program.
  2. Perform tasks in a safe and efficient manner.
  3. Assist with the operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment in guest rooms, public spaces, and hotel facilities.
  4. Communicate effectively and professionally with guests, co-workers, and supervisors.
  5. Ensure all fire and safety inspections and protocols are completed, and address any discrepancies.
  6. Collaborate with vendors and suppliers regarding repair activities, scope, products, and materials.
  7. Obtain pricing, bids, or develop cost estimates as needed.
  8. Monitor tools, supplies, and inventories of the maintenance department.
  9. Place orders with approved vendors as needed.
  10. Maintain working spaces in a safe and clean condition.
  11. Communicate directly with the front desk for guest service requests, with housekeeping for work orders, and with the General Manager for orders and projects.
  12. Carry all necessary equipment to perform work tasks.
  13. Perform other tasks/jobs as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  1. Must have a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  2. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  3. li>Ability to react quickly and calmly in emergency situations.
  4. Utilize reasoning abilities effectively.
  5. Basic maintenance skills required.
  6. Proficient in use of hand tools, power tools, and test equipment.
  7. Proficient in Windows operating systems, company-approved spreadsheets, and word processing.
  8. Ability to convey information and ideas clearly.
  9. Desire to serve all guests.
  10. Must be 18 years of age or older.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Technical, trade, or vocational school degree.
  2. Trade license in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, etc., preferred.
  3. At least 2 years of relevant experience.
  4. Carry all equipment (keys, phones, pager, tools, radio) to maintain readiness.
  5. Experience in hotel, apartment, or related field.
