Job summary

Hilton St Louis at the Ballpark in St. Louis, MO seeks an Assistant Chief Engineer to support the Chief Maintenance Engineer in maintaining hotel facilities and safety programs across guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.

You will lead a maintenance team, coordinate with vendors, and help ensure energy efficiency and reliable operation of all building systems in a fast-paced environment. This role requires strong leadership and hands-on maintenance expertise to uphold brand

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Two years post high school education preferred.
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a similar role with supervisory responsibilities.
• Hours typically 40-50 per week; may include nights, holidays, weekends if issues arise.

Responsibilities

• Assist in directing daily maintenance operations and oversee work orders and preventive tasks.
• Perform and oversee repairs of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, life safety, and building systems.
• Inspect guest rooms, public areas, grounds, and back-of-house areas to ensure standards.
• Help develop preventive maintenance programs to maximize equipment life and reduce disruptions.
• Supervise and develop maintenance staff; provide guidance for productivity and quality workmanship.
• Respond to emergency maintenance, guest requests, and safety concerns promptly.
• Assist with vendor coordination, contractor oversight, and capital projects.
• Monitor inventory and assist with purchasing supplies and parts.
