Job summary

Embassy Suites by Hilton Houston is seeking a Lead Engineer to supervise the maintenance staff, oversee daily operations, and participate in preventative maintenance. The role includes responding to guest requests and performing trades such as carpentry, painting, and plumbing.

Responsibilities include directing maintenance activities, ensuring safety, and coordinating with management to meet hotel standards. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Licensed in a trade preferred (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry).
• Experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license for the applicable state.
• Must have an acceptable MVR (Motor Vehicle Driving Record) property specific.

Responsibilities

• Directs and supervises the Maintenance staff as requested by Property Engineer and/or General Manager.
• Oversees day-to-day operations of the maintenance department.
• Participates in the preventative maintenance program and handles guest requests.
• Performs maintenance tasks including carpentry, painting, plumbing, etc.
• Responds to emergencies and unusual situations promptly.
