Job summary

IHG Hotels & Resorts in Fort Meade, MD is seeking a Maintenance/Engineering Manager to oversee engineering/maintenance operations, ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and support hotel guests and staff.

You will lead daily department activities, manage budgets, train staff, coordinate renovations with contractors, and promote preventive maintenance programs to maintain high service standards.

Qualifications

• Some college or advanced vocational training plus four years of experience in general building maintenance and/or construction including supervisory experience.
• Hotel experience preferred.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks (lifting up to 100–300 pounds) and work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily activities of the department; plan and organize work, communicate goals, and schedule employees to ensure proper coverage.
• Communicate and enforce policies and procedures; alert management of potentially serious issues.
• Ensure staff training and provide tools and equipment for duties; educate on safety compliance.
