Job summary

The Logan Hotel, part of Sage Hospitality Group in Philadelphia, seeks a maintenance engineer to carry a portable radio, stay in communication with base, respond to engineering service calls, and maintain hotel equipment safely and efficiently.

You will perform preventive maintenance on kitchen, laundry, boiler, plumbing, pool, HVAC, electrical and guest rooms; respond to emergencies; make rounds; keep logs; and document parts used. Prior experience in a similar role is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; trade courses in building maintenance.
• At least 6 months experience in a similar position.
• Ability to operate HVAC, electrical and plumbing equipment.
• Ability to drive company vehicle and snow removal equipment.
• Strong logs/records keeping and teamwork; ability to make independent decisions.

Responsibilities

• Respond to guest requests in a courteous, efficient, safe manner.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on all hotel equipment (kitchen, laundry, boiler, plumbing, pool, HVAC, electrical, guest rooms).
• Monitor engineering functions when full staff is not available; respond to emergencies including fire alarms and power failures.
• Make rounds to ensure everything is in working order.
• Clean and maintain equipment and work areas.
• Complete work orders, take readings, maintain logs and document parts used/purchased.
• Handle elevator breakdowns.
• Maintain records of Preventive Maintenance and Request Program.
• Complete daily work orders timely.
• Report unsafe conditions to leadership.
