Job summary

Sonesta International Hotels in New Orleans is seeking a Maintenance Engineer responsible for the mechanical operation of chillers, boilers, cooling towers, electrical systems, and guestroom InnComm. You will supervise maintenance staff, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure safe, reliable plant operations.

The role requires hands‑on experience with stationary engineering, building maintenance, and hotel systems.

Qualifications

• Must hold 2nd class Boilers and 2nd class AC/Refrigeration license.
• Minimum 5 years in buildings with complex plumbing.
• Broad practical experience in stationary engineering, building maintenance, electrical and plumbing.
• Familiar with hotel systems and equipment for in-building repairs.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on mechanical equipment.
• Identify and troubleshoot problems, replace bearings/belts, repair fan coil units, piping, and maintain PM records.
• Respond to requests promptly and courteously with repairs.
• Work with energy management systems and monitor energy usage.
• May perform other duties as assigned by engineering management.
