Job summary

Proper Hospitality in Palm Springs is seeking a General Maintenance Engineer to perform general maintenance and repairs across the hotel's facilities, ensuring building systems run smoothly, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical components.

You will assist with routine inspections, respond to guest and department requests, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with the Engineering Supervisor to minimize disruption while maintaining safety and guest comfort.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational/technical training preferred.
• Experience in general maintenance or engineering, hospitality preferred.
• Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC and mechanical systems.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and general maintenance equipment.

Responsibilities

• General maintenance & repairs of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
• Respond to maintenance requests and resolve issues promptly.
• Carry out preventive maintenance per schedule; inspections and parts replacement.
• Support guest rooms and public areas; assist housekeeping with maintenance needs.
• Monitor systems, troubleshoot faults, and report major repairs.
• Adhere to safety protocols and local regulations.
