Job summary

Pyramid Global Hospitality's Hilton Birmingham at UAB is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our team. You will perform maintenance on building systems, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and related equipment, following our preventative maintenance program and safety standards.

This role requires a hands-on, detail‑oriented professional who can work under pressure, communicate well, and be flexible with shifts including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Experience in a maintenance role at a hotel or resort.
• Knowledge of household repairs (carpentry, electrical, plumbing, etc.)
• Engaging and welcoming personality
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Passion for creating an exceptional guest experience
• Excellent communication skills
• Available to work various shifts including weekends and holidays
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Performs general maintenance of building and facility mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Performs general electrical repairs on appliances, house wiring and air conditioning systems, switches, fixtures and motors.
• Makes repairs on plumbing fixtures, piping, drains and sanitary systems.
• Makes repairs to woodwork, wall vinyl, doors and windows, carpeting, etc.
• Performs general mechanical maintenance on pumps, compressors, water heaters, and other equipment.
• Keeps records as required by company policy and procedures; maintains logs and prepares reports as requested.
