Job summary

Hilton Garden Inn in Sarasota, FL seeks a Maintenance Engineer to upkeep hotel areas and assets to a high quality standard. You will troubleshoot and repair HVAC, electrical and mechanical systems while performing preventative maintenance and managing costs.

Responsibilities include coordinating maintenance staff, inspecting equipment, handling parts inventory, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years maintenance or engineering experience, preferably in a hotel establishment.
• Previous experience as a hotel engineer is preferred or comparable maintenance experience at another large facility.
• Basic skills in reading prints, schematics, and equipment operation instructions.
• Experience in maintenance or building trades preferred.
• Possess basic computer skills and be comfortable learning technology.
• Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to handle stressful situations and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude; reliable and proactive.
• Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
• Independent thinker, able to make decisions from available resources.
• Ability to communicate effectively with the public and team members.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean record for business travel.
• Must be fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Food Hygiene and Fire Safety policies.
• Develop action plans based on RTM/TOM audits and technical visits.
• Operate and maintain hotel mechanical systems including domestic/hot water, chilled water, and pool systems; boiler and chiller experience preferred.
• Maintain parts inventory, label and log usage, and track warranties and service bulletins.
• Assist with building maintenance and complete work orders (tiles, bulbs, vinyl, etc.).
• Ensure safe storage and proper usage of tools and equipment, following safety standards.
• Adhere to hotel and brand purchasing procedures with nominated suppliers.
• Assist other engineers with repairs and fill out daily paperwork.
