Sonesta International Hotels in New Orleans is seeking a hands-on Preventative Maintenance Engineer to support hotel maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems across guest rooms and public spaces.

The role focuses on proactive problem solving, high standards, and teamwork within a fast-paced hospitality environment, with opportunities to work on equipment, safety, and energy management.

Qualifications

• General maintenance and repair across hotel facilities and guest areas.
• Support preventive maintenance programs for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and carpentry.
• Respond quickly and professionally to guest maintenance requests.
• Painting, patching, minor plumbing repairs and routine engineering tasks as needed.
• Troubleshoot and repair hotel equipment and mechanical systems.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in maintenance areas.
• Follow safety regulations and hotel policies at all times.

Responsibilities

• Deliver on Sonesta service standards in all guest interactions.
• Take responsibility for hazardous situations and secure hotel assets.
• Complete work orders for repairs, preventive maintenance, and replacements.
• Monitor equipment and energy systems; perform minor repairs for efficiency.
• Refurbish furniture and fixtures; paint and finish as needed.
• Maintain exterior areas, inventory security, and front entrance cleanliness.
• Ensure equipment is prepared for the next day's work.
• Collaborate with Housekeeping, Front Office, and F&B to support operations.
• Maintain maintenance logs, work orders, and documentation.
