Job summary

Renaissance New York Flushing Hotel at Tangram is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to support the new upscale property near Citi Field in Flushing, NY. The role requires hands-on repairs of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and related systems, coordination with housekeeping and guest services, and active participation in preventive maintenance.

The ideal candidate has several years in building maintenance, supervisory exposure, and a focus on safety and quality—hotel experience is a plus.

Qualifications

Two (2) years of college or vocational training in electrical or mechanical engineering or plumbing.
Minimum of three (3) years experience in a building maintenance department, including one year in a supervisory capacity. Hotel experience a plus.
Preferred, but not required: Journeyman's certificate in one of the trades.

Responsibilities

Check and perform major repairs to refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment and electrical systems.
Coordinate with hotel departments to address maintenance needs and respond promptly to requests.
Execute the hotel's preventive maintenance program.
Maintain standards of product quality and report deficiencies to the Chief Maintenance Technician.
Uphold a can-do, guest-first attitude and work as part of the hotel team to exceed guest expectations.
Resolve guest complaints and respond to service requests promptly.
Arrive on schedule and adhere to uniform guidelines.
Attend scheduled training sessions dictated by brand and hotel management.
