Overview

Maintenance Engineer lead role at Houston Marriott Westchase (Pyramid Global Hospitality). Full-time position with open availability to work any day, including weekends and holidays. The hotel offers a range of benefits and opportunities for career growth.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and maintenance on hotel facilities, including guest rooms, common areas, and mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical).
• Troubleshoot and repair issues related to plumbing, electrical systems, appliances, and HVAC systems.
• Ensure proper operation of all hotel equipment, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, boilers, plumbing, pool equipment, and HVAC systems.
• Install, repair, and maintain wiring (electrical, data, communication, etc.) and lighting/intercom systems.
• Perform diagnostics on electrical components and controls of machinery or other equipment.
• Respond with a sense of urgency to maintenance requests from guests and staff; coordinate with other departments to minimize disruptions.
• Adhere to safety standards and regulations, including lock-out/tag-out and other safety practices.
• Set up electrical wiring and power needs per specifications for events, vendor exhibits, and meeting spaces.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in facility/building maintenance across trades (electrical, plumbing, mechanical, carpentry, painting), preferably in a hotel.
• Experience using basic hand and power tools; knowledge of safety protocols (OSHA) when working with electrical equipment.
• Experience with electrical systems (208/220-volt circuits) and basic electrical work; ability to operate in high voltage settings is highly desired.
• Strong communication skills; ability to read and comprehend instructions in English.
• Knowledge of building maintenance trades and ability to diagnose and repair issues across multiple trades; ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs, work in dirty or noisy environments, and work from lifts, ladders, and scaffolding; able to move through various hotel areas and climb stairs as needed.
• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in a related field preferred.
