The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for providing technical and maintenance services throughout the hotel to keep equipment and systems in excellent condition.
Responsibilities include:
- Approaching all encounters with guests and team members in a friendly, service-oriented manner, and complying with Peachtree Hospitality Management Standards and regulations to ensure safe and efficient hotel operations.
- Maintaining regular attendance as per the hotel’s scheduling needs.
- Understanding and enforcing all department policies and procedures fairly and consistently.
- Performing routine preventive maintenance to ensure machinery runs smoothly and building systems operate efficiently.
- Assisting with preventative maintenance and completing work orders such as replacing ceiling tiles, light bulbs, patching vinyl, etc.
- Checking and repairing electrical systems, including air conditioning controls, televisions, and lighting systems.
- Handling repairs of hotel equipment, including small appliances, kitchen and laundry equipment, boilers, pool equipment, HVAC, plumbing, and fixtures.
- Servicing the hotel’s pool, including chemical adjustments and filter cleaning.
- Maintaining the building exterior and curb appeal through snow removal, lawn care, painting, trash removal, and gardening.
- Refurbishing furniture and fixtures within guest rooms, including painting and finishing as needed.
- Responding courteously to guest questions, complaints, and requests to ensure satisfaction.
- Operating heavy machinery safely.
- Repairing or replacing defective parts with hand and power tools, and reassembling equipment.
- Diagnosing mechanical problems and determining corrective actions, utilizing blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs.
- Installing and repairing wiring, electrical components, plumbing, machinery, and equipment.
- Completing maintenance work orders promptly to maintain guest satisfaction.
- Communicating with other departments regarding guest room conditions.
- Maintaining clean and organized work areas and storage rooms.
- Performing additional duties as assigned by management.
- Attending trainings and meetings as required.
