Job summary

Residence Inn by Marriott - Seaport/Boston is seeking a Hotel Maintenance Engineer to perform general maintenance and repairs in guest suites, meeting spaces, and common areas. You will handle electrical, mechanical, plumbing, kitchen, and laundry repairs to keep facilities running smoothly.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, safety compliance, and timely responses to guest and staff requests.

Qualifications

• One year hotel maintenance experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with electrical and mechanical systems required.
• Flexibility to work on weekends and holidays.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Certification in Building Maintenance preferred.

• Conduct regular preventive maintenance to avoid breakdowns and ensure smooth operations.
• Ensure maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and standards.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and staff.
• Snow removal (seasonal).
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for general maintenance and repairs in guest suites, meeting spaces, and common areas. You will also handle repairs on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, kitchen, and laundry equipment, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform general maintenance and repairs in guest suites, meeting spaces, swimming pool and common areas.
• Conduct repairs on mechanical systems to ensure they are functioning properly.
• Handle electrical repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Address plumbing issues and perform necessary repairs.
• Maintain and repair kitchen equipment to ensure it operates efficiently.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on laundry equipment.
• Heating/air conditioning (HVAC) ventilation
• Conduct regular preventive maintenance to avoid breakdowns and ensure smooth operations.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and standards.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and staff.
• Snow removal (seasonal)
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.

REQUIREMENTS:

• One-year hotel maintenance related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with electrical and mechanical systems required.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Experience with hotel building maintenance or Certification in Building Maintenance preferred.
• Availability on weekdays/weekends and holidays. Flexibility is a required.
• Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Able to bend, stoop, walk and climb ladders
