Marcus Hotels & Resorts’ Omaha Marriott Downtown is seeking an Engineer I to keep building systems and equipment in good repair, performing preventative maintenance and minimizing downtime to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Located in downtown Omaha, this role offers opportunities to work on a premier property, with a focus on safety, quality, and teamwork across departments. The ideal candidate will have basic engineering experience and be able to work diverse shifts.

Qualifications

• Previous engineering experience preferred.
• Must read and interpret safety documents and manuals.
• Must communicate effectively with guests and associates.
• Able to analyze problems and implement solutions.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily shift reports and log maintenance activities.
• Adhere to OSHA standards and procedures.
• Maintain building interior and exterior.
• Foster guest/associate rapport by addressing requests promptly.
• Perform preventative maintenance on FF&E and systems.
• Assist in cost control and efficiency improvements.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain building systems.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

As an Engineer I you will be responsible for keeping all building and equipment in good repair, minimizing down time by providing day-to-day maintenance and performing preventative maintenance of the hotel.

What will you be doing?

• Perform daily shift reports including documenting all calls in the Engineer¿s log, monitoring and closing out calls through Marriott GXP system.
• Adhere to all OSHA standards and procedures.
• Maintain building interior and exterior.
• Foster excellent guest/associate rapport by promptly addressing requests.
• Perform preventative maintenance on all FF&E.
• Assist in cost control: Heat, Power, Light, Sewer and Water and provide recommendations for improved methods and procedures.
• Troubleshoot, repair and or maintain the following:
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What do you bring to the role?

• Previous engineering experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• CFC Certification for Refrigerant handling and Power Engineering Training Program certification preferred
• Must be able to read and interpret documents such as Lockout Tag Out, SDS, safety awareness information, maintenance instructions and procedural manuals.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with guests and associates
• Must be able to analyze problems, identify course of action, implement solutions and work as an indecent mechanic.
• Represent the company in a courteous and well-groomed manner.
• Must be able to use and understand hand and power tools.
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, lift, grasp, twist and stretch.
• Must be able to work a varied schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, holidays and the ability to work under pressure.
