Job summary

Valor Hospitality is seeking a Cook 1 for the DoubleTree St. Augustine hotel to prepare culinary delights for guests and hotel clientele.

You will work across pantry, fry, and other kitchen stations, following recipes and quality standards while maintaining a safe, sanitary work environment. Ideal candidates have 6 months to 1 year in food/beverage service, basic knife skills, and the ability to read and follow English instruction.

Qualifications

• Six months–1 year in a food/beverage services environment or establishment.
• Strong knowledge of operating industrial ovens and cooking ranges.
• Basic understanding of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food of consistent quality following recipes and standards.
• Start items ahead of time and manage multiple orders efficiently.
• Work all kitchen stations: broiler, sauté, fry, pantry, expediter.
• Date and rotate perishables; keep proper temperatures.
• Assist in controlling food costs and reducing waste.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
