Job summary

Highgate Hotels is seeking a House Laundry Attendant for Homewood Suites Rochester in Rochester, NY. You will wash, iron, fold and distribute towels, linens and napkins to support guest room readiness and excellent service.

Responsibilities include operating washers/dryers, sorting linen by type, pre-treating stains, and keeping the laundry area tidy. The role requires flexibility, physical stamina, and adherence to hotel standards.

Qualifications

• Flexible and long hours may be required.
• Medium work – up to 50 lbs occasionally and 20 lbs frequently.
• Ability to stand during entire shift.
• Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards.
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including proper uniform and nametag.
• Comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.

Responsibilities

• Be attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to guests, managers and fellow employees.
• Understand operation of washing machines and dryers.
• Load and unload washes according to standards.
• Wash and dry all dirty linens, towels, napkins and tablecloths.
• Sort all hotel linen according to type, color and size; pre-treat stained linen.
• Clean dryer filter daily and maintain equipment as trained.
• Operate iron as per standard and ensure it is shut off at end of day.
• Sweep and mop laundry floors, store linens off the floor.
• Fold towels and linens; sort clean laundry and load carts.
• Maintain clean work area and ensure guest satisfaction.
