COMMONWEALTH LODGING MANAGEMENT LLC in Glen Allen, VA is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor to oversee housekeeping functions in assigned areas and cover Executive Housekeeper duties in their absence. You will supervise daily operations to maintain guest rooms, public areas, pool/health club, and may oversee laundry.

The role requires attention to detail, leadership to train staff, and ensuring guest satisfaction while adhering to safety and chemical handling protocols.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED or work equivalent.
• Computer skills required; familiarity with Microsoft Office; hotel systems experience preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years as a Housekeeping Room Attendant.
• Minimum of 2–3 years managing entry-level employees.
• Good English language and written/verbal communication skills.
• Prefer previous experience as Housekeeping Supervisor/Inspector.
• Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and equipment; chemical handling.

Responsibilities

• Eye for detail; effectively interact with guests, other departments and housekeeping staff.
• Maintain positive guest relations and guest confidentiality; resolve complaints.
• Conduct staff training as assigned.
• Communicate with guests and team members.
• Know proper use of equipment and chemicals; follow OSHA regulations.
• Monitor cleanliness, sanitation and organization of areas.
• Verify room status; report discrepancies; prioritize check-out rooms.
• Coordinate staff breaks and assign duties.
• Distribute assignment sheets and review priorities.
• Assign staff to designate keys; maintain security of keys.
• Inspect supply levels; rectify deficiencies.
• Check Room Attendants' carts; ensure neatness and proper equipment.
• Inspect rooms cleaned by attendants; relay deficiencies to be corrected.
• Check vacant rooms and update discrepant room status.
• Inspect public areas, fitness center, pool, offices; address deficiencies.
• Complete paperwork and closing duties; review with manager or on-coming supervisor.
• Assist in emergencies to protect guests and building; restore operations quickly.
• Assist Executive Housekeeper on managerial duties as assigned.
• Maintain knowledge of hotel features, hours, rates, packages, counts, and arrivals.
• Be familiar with local attractions to answer guest inquiries.
