Job summary

Holiday Inn Express & Suites Kona is seeking a Guest Service Representative to greet guests, handle check-ins, and manage reservations with a friendly, proactive approach. You will process transactions, answer inquiries, and provide area recommendations while maintaining excellent customer service.

The role requires strong computer skills, the ability to type 40+ wpm, and a willingness to work weekends and holidays in a dynamic hotel environment.

Qualifications

• Front desk experience and guest interaction skills are preferred.
• Strong computer and software skills, including Office applications.
• Ability to type at least 40 words per minute.
• Customer service experience and a strong work ethic are valued.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and complete standard check-in procedures daily, ensuring guest satisfaction.
• Answer inquiries and accept reservations in person, by email, and by phone; assist with directions and area activities.
• Process financial transactions at the front desk and maintain accurate records.
• Maintain knowledge of in-house events and area functions to respond timely and accurately.
• Maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management; support department communications and operations.
• Assist other staff to ensure optimal hotel department and overall hotel performance.
• Adhere to safety and sanitation procedures and report any suspicious activity.

Job Description:

• Greets and completes standard check-in procedures for arriving guests daily, using both manual and computerized methods ensuring guest satisfaction
• Courteously answers inquiries and accepts reservations, in person, through email and telephone calls, and help guests with directions and area activities
• Controls and records financial transactions a front desk
• Maintains good customer relations by staying informed of all in-house and area functions in order to answer questions and concerns with timely and knowledgeable responses, in person and on telephone
• Maintains a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times
• Performs other duties as assigned, requested, or deemed necessary by management
• Contributes and maintains established information and communication sources such as department and front desk log books to enhance department communications and operations
• Aids other associates and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department and the hotel
• Ensure safety by following the safety and sanitation procedures and reporting suspicious activity to management
