Job summary

Courtyard by Marriott Albany Thruway is seeking an experienced Hotel General Manager to lead all facets of our Albany property. You will drive guest satisfaction, manage P&L, and partner with corporate teams to uphold brand standards in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

The role demands 3–5 years in guest services or hotel operations, a bachelor’s degree, superb organizational and customer service skills, and the ability to mentor staff.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years’ experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping, management operations, or related professional area.
• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Solid organizational, time-management and prioritization skills
• Exceptional customer service skills

Responsibilities

• Direct, train and mentor associates and observe performance to ensure adherence to hotel policies and established operating procedures.
• Ensure all Owner and brand directed initiatives, perspectives and programs are implemented, followed and supported.
• Monitor customer service by speaking with guests, reviewing guest surveys and observing associates.
• Actively promote the hotel and company in the community.
• Assist with the development of sales strategies and action plans.
• Develop and maintain positive business relationships with guests, vendors and external partners.
• Represent company at community organization meetings to promote hotels.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure standards of excellence are met.
• Understand and administer all laws and codes governing hotel operations.
• Develop and maintain hotel budget to meet financial goals.
• Facilitate communication with all associates.
• Handle payroll and purchasing functions and maintain records.
