Job summary

Westmont Hospitality Group is seeking an Accounting Manager to provide leadership in the hotel’s financial operations, guiding management with timely financial reporting and strong internal controls. The role emphasizes profitability, regulatory compliance, and safeguarding owners' assets while overseeing staff development.

The position requires managing cash flow, preparing monthly statements, budgeting and variance analysis, and ensuring timely audits.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of related progressive experience in hotel Accounting or related field; or a 4-year college degree with an Accounting/ Finance concentration and a minimum of 2 years of related progressive experience; 1-year comparable payroll.

Responsibilities

• Effectively manage and communicate cash flow-related issues; prepare monthly financial statements for the property.
• Monitor hotel revenues and expenses and ensure accurate recording per guidelines; manage cash flow and operating forecast.
• Create annual budgets and monthly variance analysis; investigate variances and recommend improvements.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory licenses, permits, leases, contracts, and operational taxes.
• Analyze financial data to assist management in meeting financial objectives.
• Maintain standard accounting policies and internal controls.
• Review balance sheet accounts and perform reconciliations monthly.
• Audit internal financial controls including purchasing, cash handling, payroll, and assets.
• Hire, train, supervise and develop staff.
• Maintain compliance with hotel standards for safe and efficient operations.
• Prepare financial reports per requirements and meet deadlines.
• Weekly: A/R & A/P Aging, Flash Reports, Payroll Reports, Revenue Updates.
• Monthly: Financial Statements, Forecasting Key Statistics, Cash Flow.
• Annual: Budgets.
• Interact with Executive Committee to keep operations on track.
• Monitor deadlines and daily operating report production.
• Execute other special projects as assigned.
