Job summary

Suburban Inns is seeking a motivated Facilities Technician (Maintenance) for Hilton Garden Inn GR in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This full-time, 2nd shift role involves maintenance of grounds, public areas and guest rooms, with responsibilities spanning routine repairs, safety checks, and guest service.

Qualifications

• Minimal math and reading comprehension required.
• Good communication skills with guests and team.
• Ability to interpret information and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and build rapport to ensure they feel welcome.
• Perform safety-focused property walk-arounds and address issues on shift.
• Order parts and supplies as needed, staying within budget with GM approval for big-ticket items.
• Record maintenance issues in Quore; complete work orders and track progress.
• Monitor pool/spa water quality and maintain clean pool/spa areas.
• Maintain security of the property and manage keys, cameras, and doors.
• Keep essential records (codes, certificates, logs) up to date.
• Inspect/assist with fire protection systems and train staff on use.
• Paint touch-ups and repair drywall, plus minor electrical and plumbing tasks.
• Assist with lawn care, snow removal, and grounds maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and repair kitchen, laundry equipment, boiler, and HVAC systems.
• Respond promptly to guest complaints per brand standards and Suburban Inns processes.
• Support ongoing preventative maintenance program and inter-department communications.
• Operate company vehicles or heavy machinery as needed.
• Maintain regular attendance and comply with company policies.
